A good sub for white gas is unleaded gas. It works quiet well, and I
have tried it. As a matter of fact I used it for a long time, and still
do, and have had no ill effects.

Hello Dean,

Unleaded is a good substitute for white gas but does have some pitfalls. The
refineries put additives in unleaded fuel which over time will cause problems
with anything needing clean 'white gas'. Some of the additives will cause a
gummy substance to be deposited after burning because not all of the additive
will burn up.(not hot enough) If your going to use unleaded gas in place of
white gas, you should take the burner apart and clean it with denatured alcohol
occasionally.

Run unleaded gas through a charcoal filter to capture the additives. Instant
Coleman fuel.
